Youth Voices and Action Initiatives

Youth Voices and Action Initiatives (YVAI) started as a loose network of likeminded teenagers and youths spread across the county with their main intervention being to support the department of health services to achieve its AYSRH targets, the organization started its official registration process in 2020 and officially receive it’s certificated of registration in 2021.

Membership in networks:

The establishment of the organization was inspired by young people from kilifi who had an objective of contributing to existing county and national youth strategies relating to RMNCAH and improving socio economic welfare of the Adolescent, youth, women and families in kilifi county and Kenya at large.

2020 Achievements

Implementing Menstrual Health and hygiene project (Pad fund drive) which benefited 500 young girls – Fund drive and NCPD

Supply WASH products (Water points Jeri-can to improve sanitation for both boy and girls) which benefited 800 in school adolescents. – Fund drive

GBV dialogue at the facility targeting Pwani university peer educators club in, The project benefited 100 educators- supported by YVAI and KRCS.

In partnership with YACH, we trained 25 AYP Champions on GBV response and reporting mechanism – supported by DOH,UNICEF, YACH,YVAI

2021 Achievements

Participated and provided technical support to YACH to deliver 10 SGBV/SRH/HIV integrated dialogues at sub county level targeting AYP, the forum benefited AYP in the 7 sub counties.

3 day campaign on HIV counseling, testing and awareness creation target AYP, the campaigned benefited 130 AYP whom were for HTS counseling and services.- supported by DOH and YVAI
